  • Everyone with power windows please help me out

I would like to put power windows in my car, I know i need the door panels, window motors, and switches. Will a power window wiring harness from a 95 z28 work in my 3.8?

Window components are identical from 93-02 except for some cosmetic differences like switches being diff colors

thanks i wasnt sure the wiring was the same from a v8 to a v6, i thought maybe the pcm difference or plug in difference would mess something up

if you are from greensburg pa (just says greensburg) then I would trade you all of my power window stuff for your manual window stuff.

why would you trade? do the motors work? i was looking into buying power stuff including door panels because a friend of mine broke the inner piece that snaps onto the drivers door panel

yeah, the motors work, I just like crank windows better because you don't have to worry about them breaking all the time.

i imagine that all the parts would work, but i dont think the door panels would switch from the camaro to a firebird. I'm sure it wouldnt be hard to make it look decent though putting holes in the panels.

I dont understand what you want... you cant use my door panels so all i could give you would be the window cranks right? what else would i be able to give you? doesnt seem fair to you to give up a set of motors and harness and switches for door cranks and my plastic inserts

Are the window regulators the same?

I thought that everything was different inside, but ive never looked at a manual window car.

That would be a bad trade if thats all their is to switching them out. I would happily buy your cranks from you after you do the conversion to help you offset some of the costs though.

I can't even find the regulators for sale to see if they are different. Did you already look into this?
                      Thanks.

I'm with you Formula.... Power windows are just one more thing to break down, plus the extra dead weight of the motors in the doors... who needs 'em? I'd rather have manual roll-ups anyday, but they're a lot harder to find these days.
