  • Shaking at 50+ MPH

Hey guys was wondering if you could help me out. I got my engine rebuilt and have had it for about 3 weeks. About when I go over 50 mph the steering wheel and sometimes the front of the car starts shaking. Its not a bad shake but its noticable. I Just had the tires rotated and had a full brake job and that did really do nothing to stop it. I'm thinking something in the front end is loosing or not connected right. What could i check to solve this problem?

    Any help is appreciated!

did they balance the tires when they rotated them? If they are not balanced it will shake like that

Yes they balaced all four. I'm thin king that something isnt put back right aftert they rebuilt the motor. The shop practically disassembled the whole front end. What loose hardware could cause that kind of rattle?

Also if the wheel bearings are going bad it will cause the car to shake.

go under the car, and feel and see if anything has play or feels loose.

One of your tires might have tread seperation.

Checked the wheel bearings and they seem tight. What parts could the shop have put on loose when they reasemmbled the car after they rebuilt the engine. I dont know but the car just doesnt seem as tight before it went into the shop...

Check your alignment after your double check the balancing on the tires.
