  • temp gauge accuracy?

alright, i did search this and the concensus seems to be that our coolant temp gauge is pretty inaccurate. but thats it....
my question: what does that mean for me? i just put in a 180 thermo, and i GUESS that its a smidgeon behind the 210 line it used to glue itself to, but theres really no difference past that... and why are these things so inaccurate? any particular reason?

they are accurate enough to give you an idea, turn the fans on and you'll see the temp gage go down slightly, or get an electric water pump and your gage will stay right at 180

our guages are basically a dummy light.

my guage reads about within a millimeter of it self between 160* and 220*
