Whenever I start my engine cold I get this weird "click-click-click-click" sound, which increases in frequency with RPM. I don't have any engine codes or anything, I checked my accessory belt and it looks slightly worn but not cracked significantly...what could this sound be? BTW, the sound always stops within a minute or so.

The only time it did it previously was during a cold start in the winter: it stopped in less than a minute. It started up again during the last couple of days, but it will only do it on a cold start. It's warm here right now, so it's not just cold weather. Again, in about a minute the sound stops: no codes, nothing out of the ordinary other than the sound.

Odds are it is not your belt. If it were you belt, it wouldn't stop within a minute. It could be a lifter ticking until your engine gets a little warmed up, or i'm pretty sure i've heard of the EGR vavle causing a ticking noise also.

i have the exact same problem....well i don't think it's a problem....when i start the car( cold engine), it produces all kinds of click-click-clang-clang etc...but after a minute or two, when the engine warms up, it becomes quiet ....so, i think it's normal ......even though i could be wrong... :)

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
