hp, probably none to the wheels with the bypass. how many miles? If quite a bit yea take it off and clean it, will help get back some lost hp from the dirty airflow

why would there be any gain in not cooling your TB? i would figure, the cooler the throttle body, the cooler the air into the manifold will be? One reason to switch to a lower temp thermostat?

well there might be a gain flywheel power wise, I am just saying probably nothing you will notice at the wheels. It will help overall though with the rest of the bolt ons for our cars

according to my calculations, you will gain about 0.0003 HP at the flywheel, and 0.0000009 at the wheels.

Do you have the 3.4 or the 3.8?

with the 3.8 you don't have lines. Instead when you take the tb off you will see a little channel cut into the bottom part of the tb. You plug that up with some sealant and then that blocks the coolant from going into the bottom of the throttlebody.

not dirty airflow, but the carbon sludge will not allow as much airflow as stock

                          Re: Throttle Body Coolant Bypass

Here is a question (dumb one probably): Why is the TB designed to have hot coolant flow through it anyway, if it actually hinders performance, and could actually shorten the life of your TB and other engine parts?
Maybe it's one of those "Planned obsolescence" things, so that the economy will benefit from the increased auto repairs or something to that effect:bs:

to keep things from freezing with the cold winters people have in the north states and canada.

                              That's exactly correct.

And it's not that you're adding rwhp, you're helping prevent heatsoak.
