Total was around 85 bucks, most expensive work being the fuel filter. At 50 bucks, it was a bit of a rip...but with this 30 degree new england weather and no garage, I'd rather just get it over with.

Those were exactly my thoughts when I first thought 50 bucks was too much. Better them than me :D

I was pretty surprised though, they did all the work in about 20 minutes. The fist time they put the PCV valve in it messed up the idle, so they had to take it out and reinstall it...seems to be fine now.

How much did they charge you for all that???

Even if it rattles, it may still be bad. Mine still rattled when I took it out, with the new one in, my gas mileage and power improved noticeably.

Over the past few months I've been calculating my fuel economy every time I get gas. On average, I'm getting around 200 miles per tank. It's terrible, and I'm not driving with a heavy foot either. For the most part, I don't think I've had better than 15-16mpg....this with a cat back exhaust and a cold air intake. What can be to blame for the terrible fuel economy? Spark plugs/wires? any suggestions?

i get the same mileage. bought my car off the lot brand new, & it's always been like that.

UPDATE: Looks like things are much better now. My car has clocked almost 100 miles on the trip meter and the needle is still buried at "F."

Fuel filter is like 15 bucks at AutoZone and takes 5 minutes to do. So cake...

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
