I agree w/ 99redcamaro buy the replacement motors and bring to a shop for the install. Its worth it ... i replaced both motors in mine ... it was a bad experience they just arent like the originals and getting the door apart and working with it was annoying.

if i follow a certain procedure, will i be putting my hand/fingers at risk? i'm just a highschool kid. i can't fork up $350 bucks for someone to replace my power window motor. especially in addition to my car payments.

personally, i like the autozone motors better than the delco crap, the last delco crap in my drivers side door, lasted 1 year to do day...

The autozone "siemens" motors are better.

The installation, is very easy, once you have done it the first time.

If you've had them replaced once, i'll do it for $20 in the orlando area. IT is VERY easy.

The window motors depend on location for price, as autozone has gay regional pricing, i've heard as cheap as 39, to as high as 75. I know orlando area is 53.49 with tax, (49.99 pre tax)

jam the window with a 2x4 and you'llbe fine.

im gonna try to fab up a bracket or whatever for buick riviera motors.. the windows in those cars are twice as big and heavy, and they roll up fast as hell in my girlfriends car.. that would be nice

I dont see why the window would fall on you.
When I did mine, I didnt have anything holding up the window at all. The window didnt fall on me at all.
The hardest part was getting the screw to hold the motor in to screw and stay on there.

I ended up replacing mine about 8 times because the motors kept burning out (7 passenger, 1 driver)... (I never had to use anything to hold them up, the regulator holds them up unless you press down on them).

So I bought manual window regulators and handles, installed them myself (about 3 hours each) and now Im as happy as a 2 peckered puppy.

The passenger side regulator (I did this one myself first) did snap on me and would have took my finger off if I had it in there, but the driver side I had someone hold the window when I got the regulator rivets out and it was fine.

Motor is a one person job, regulator is a 2 person job but can be done with one person.
