  • question about air/fuel guage

I just got my new guages installed today but I was driving home and noticed that my air/fuel guage jumps all over the place. it really doesn't stay in one place the only time it really changes is when I really get on it. The guy told me that it's because I have a narrow band sensor. Does this sound right or what???? Oh yea I have the auto meater phantom series 2 air/fuel part number is 7575

Are you running off a narrowband sensor or a wideband?

sounds like your running off the stock narrowband, so whatever it says is pretty much incorrect.

the only thing the stock narrowband sensors are good for is finding Stoichiometric AFR which is 14.7:1 AFR
      but dont trust a narrowband

the thing is, the car is designed to go from rich to lean and back and forth real quick. the car wont stay at a steady 14.7a/f. so when you see it bounce back and fourth, its acting properly.

dont mean to jack this thread but i wanted to get some gauges, and AFR was one i was thinking of getting, are they hard to install?

anyone have instructions on installing say, AFR, voltometer, and engine temp?

          thanks

strt racer I have AfR, trens temp, and fuel psi. I would go with Auto Meter gauges, and the install it depends if you want to use the stack sensor or if you want to put in a new one I would recommend putting a new sensor to get a more accurate readout , the install isn’t that hard do
