  • CAN I USE A GTP SUPERCHARGER IN MY CAMARO

Hi everyone, I have a 1996 3800series camaro. I've been told by man of others that I can take a super charger from a Grand Prix GTP or SSEI and it will pretty much bolt into my camaro. I was wondering if anyone here has ever heard of that, or if its possible.

    Thanks,

    Gidds

Yeah unless you like chopping up the car a little. Do a search in the forced induction section for details.

see it puts the TB in the back of the motor bay, so you have to bring the intake thought the Firewall, yeah you can't

and the SC will not fit under the hood there is no clearance, and you only going to get like 60 HP anyway......

No, the charger wont work. I recently looked into getting one becuase you can buy them all day long for REAL cheap. First off the GTP is front wheel drive. The engine sits sideways compared to ours. In other words, the charger will not fit unless you move your throttle body and intake. You'd have to find a place for the nose and pulley too. I was also told that the manifold sits higher, but not too sure about that. Anyways, the GTP charger would only add about 60hp and isn't worth the time and money it would take to put that in your ride. Save up and get a ForecFedFab kit. That's what I'm doin'.

Yes it will work. I have seen it.

BUT...Like said above its a pain in the a55. You will spend WAY more money on new parts, labor, and Jack Daniels then you would just buying a SC kit from RKsports or even a use LS1 and tranny. All of that for 60hp is just crazy.

BTW moving to forced induction forum ;)
