thirsty car

2 days ago we had a heavy rain, and my sister took the camaro for a spin.half an hoer later she calls me and tell me that the car had yust stopped. i told her if she went through water with the car and she said yes,


the freaking thing is that i forgot the loose the cold intake i made for the car, so when she passed in the water the car sucked some water in the motor.

yesterday i started the car and the mufler spewed mud and white smoke.


the strange thing i noticed, that the car now have a bit more power,/ why??

not true!

basically, if your car gets a little water in the intake, its no big deal. i poured water in the throttle body of my s-10 when i had it, to clean carbon out.

basically, if you use a small amount, itll go into the engine, into the combustion chamber, and turn to steam, cleaning carbon off the valves, piston, etc.

so you only got a little bit in, flooded the engine, and cleaned out some carbon.

i wouldnt worry about it if the car still runs.

I'm actually inclined to agree on that part. I went about intake high in some water some years back, and just bulldogged out in first gear. not sure if i got any water anywhere...but the engine ran fine.
