  • a question about coolant

    ok, this question comes up from the "loosing coolant, mechanic stumped" thread.

    someone in there said "does your car smoke after the endine gets up to temp"

    Mine doesnt while driving, but if it is idiling, it will.

    so, why is this

    Its steam, not smoke. Basicly when your car is idiling, its building up condinsation in the pipe, some times it comes out of water, some times steam. Its nonthing to worry about, unless of course your always having to add coolant.

      thats good, i want it to rust my exhaust out so i can get a new one
