  • Car idols like carp....is this why??

alright i did the free ram air mod to my 98 and also took out the air muffle and all that fun junk from the throttle body to the intake box and ran a straight pipe through there...when i did this i also removed my MAF screen. It seems since ever since then when my car warms up it idols between 800-and 1000 rpms bouncing up and down and it sounds like crap...would removing the screen cause this? i have seen alot of other people do this and there wasnt a problem with it

It's generally accepted here that it's not the best idea to remove the MAF screen on pre-99s because it can cause a rough idle. 99+ seem to do better than 98- with it removed.
