Just a little update, I've got my new bracket in place as well as the stock water pump. Just waiting on the water pump pully itself. Should be here soon.
        Working on getting pics up.

Re: John D. Power wrap question

Got my pulley on friday. Did some checking on the "squareness" of the blower to to block itself. came to realize it was not 100%. This could have very well been causing poor belt/pully contact. Did a whole lot of measuring and now have washers in place to square it up. My only problem is now the blower pulley is set foreward from the rest of the other pullys. My soulution to that will be installing spacers behind the blower pully to line it all up. Those should get here somtime this week.

Finaly had the time to cross cut my blower pully today. It came out looking pretty good. Will try and post some pics when i get home. It has eight evenly spaced 1/8 wide x 1/8 deep grooves in it, should grip pretty well. gonna get a new belt and i will be set.

Re: John D. Power wrap question

OMG! Holy crap did it work. Was able to pull 5lbs before backing off to avoid catostrophic engine damage. When the car is fully tuned I would think I would see about 7lbs, or at least I would hope since I cant romp on it until then. The new belt routing deffinitly did it's job. But im sure the cross cuts I machined into my pully helped a lot to. I also bout a new Gates serpentine belt. Much better!

Ya, I'm super excited. I just wish it was tuned so i could really get on it without leaning out. Oh well, don't know if i will get it tuned now or wait till spring.

The Camaro has pretty much become a summer car for me, would it cause any issues tuning it in the cold chicago winter? Or am i ok to go ahead and do it now instead of waiting till summer?

I should be able to do that, will have to remove the blower posibly thoug to get a good shot. It replaces the lowest most standoff. instead of coming straight out it looks like a big "U" right next to the filter adapter. The belt then goes from the top of the water pump pully right to the bottem of the ac pully. without the bracket the old standoff would interfere with the new routing. the "U" shape allows the belt to pass unhinderd.

I'm just glad all the time spent fabricating worked out.

Shouldn't make a damned bit of difference, unless you installed a carb. You didn't install a carb, did you?
