• question about 5-speed sticks and how to...

i want to shorten my stick cuz its like 5 miles long...

they have the shafts for 45 bucks to shorten but they are made for the 6-speed which is a 2-piece shaft.

They have shorteners from lous short stick thing...but it says

"Short Stick Features

- For 1993 and up Camaro Z28, SS, Formula, Trans AM, Firehawk
- Fits M6 Stock, factory Hurst, SLP, aftermarket Hurst and Pro 5.0 shifters
- Fits M5 aftermarket Hurst shifters (V6 models)
- Material: High Strength Steel
- Finish: Black Satin or Stainless Steel
- Retains the factory boot and knob
- One piece design with no welds to break
- Installation is a breeze (see on-line instructions below) "

- Fits M5 aftermarket Hurst shifters (V6 models)

um i dont think they made a hurst aftermarket shifter for the 95 3.4L. so how can i shorten it?

i have a borg warner 5-speed according to RPO codes.. but there isnt a hurst option... PLZ HELP

The Hurst Billet Plus shifter will fit your car, and that stick will work with the shifter.
Check the Mods Encyclopedia, it talks about that shifter with Lou's Short Stick.

i looked there originally. but how can i just shorten it without spending 130 bucks?

that means i have to buy the hurt shifter and then get a new stick after that?

Yup. That's about the only way, since you can't change the stick.

Do you have access to a tap and dye?

Just the dye?

Call a machine shop I bet they can help you.

You can chop yours off and dye it...or maybe even somehow use Lou's short stick...but if you want a shorter throw, you'll need an aftermarket shifter. Either of the first options just makes the stock shorter, not the throw.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
