  • GT2 Cam question

I've been running a GT2 Cam and 105# valvesprings on some supersixxmotorsports stage 2 heads. I just got done rebuilding the block, (due to a seized piston), but I noticed that the injectors looks a little rough, I'm going to get them flow tested, but I'm pretty sure atleast a couple of them will need replacing. My question is: Would there really be anything to gain from upgrading to some 36# injectors with this setup? I'm not running NO2 btw.

how big were the injectors you were running before...if you just left the stock ones on I am pretty sure that you were more then maxing them out...what do you hp tuners scans show for injector duty...Cam and heads I would upgrade to atleast 28# from a z28....or even 36#....you really only benefit if your injectors are running at like 85% or more duty cycle as they sit on the car now...you dont want them up that high...

I was running the stock 20# injectors before, and I'm not running HP Tuners, I just got an ecu tune from Texas Speed and Performance.

        Re: GT2 Cam question

ok...A) if you are going to do all that work to the car....I strongly suggest hp tuners as a mail order tune will not even come close to unlocking the potential in the car.
        b) Im sure you are probably starving your car with the stock injectors...If I remember correctly the abbott NA cam is starved for fuel with the stock injectors...Im pretty sure the GT2 is the same way.

I'd be weary about pushing the car hard on stock injectors...especially if you have upped the shift points to take advantage of the power...

With my VS cam and mods my 36lb injectors hit 60% duty cycle sometimes, so with more aiir flow from the heads, you might as well get a set of $70 gtp injectors.

depending on what year your car is you can also swap out the injectors from the inline 6 trail blazers (they are either 26 or 28lb).They are a direct swap for 2000 and up 3.8's, I have them with my gt2 cam.

Someone found 36lb injectors mutitec for $70 from EDMoraadparts.com and said they would work in his. Search the ADV. and PCM threads.
