I've been out of the V6 scene for a while. Where can I find a reasonably priced longblock for my 00 3.8? $4k ain't cutting the mustard. Just looking for a mild rebuild.

intense has there 3000$ short block with a built bottom end! but thats a bit pricey.

im not sure about any other companies, but you could always check ebay. last i checked they had a few complete 3800's for less than a grand. minus wiring harness, ecu, and what not.

you could also have someone build you one and then buy it from em! i need to spend another 100$ and ive got my bottom end built then its time to wait for PP on the heads and intakes.

        Re: Built longblock

There's a couple of complete engines on ebay right now for $500... 200$ for freight... then build it yourself... for 3.5 grand you can have it stroked and built for the same price as the intense block...

        Ebay engine link...

Stock block, stock crank, L32 (series 3 3.8) rods and pistons, rings, bearings, arp rod bolts. Not looking for anything exotic. My block is shot, 4 rods snapped and exited through the block and oil pan. Oh yeah, need an oil pan.

I posted this before but go j/y and rebuild it. It takes some time but its a good learning experience and you'll have a fresh motor for dirt cheap.

Time is not on my side. My GTO was totaled and need to get my Firebird back on the road as quick as possible.

I bit and bought a junkyard engine. I need a car ASAP. I may still be interested in your stuff for the right price. Is it assembled?
