  • 3/8 oil restricted pushrods

    Hey guys,

If you're familir with INTENSE's 3/8 oil restricted pushrods can you tell me if the OD of the pushrod is still the same as the stock block/heads support. I think it is I just want to confirm it before I buy them.

PS doing a complete build, check the thread in the turbo section!

    Thanks!
    Mike

I guess it's a dumb question. They basically have to be the same size. Just wondering if anyone could vouch for that and speak for their quality.

From what I've learned, those are designed for aftermarket rockers.

        More accurately, roller rockers.

New info. ZZP's website says that 3/8 rods won't fit (check the cc hardened pushrods page). However, INTENSE sells them and look at my block and heads I can't imagine the 1/16 inch more diamater rod wouldn't fit? Any input why zzp claims this?

the picture of intense's 3/8 oil restricted pushrods look like they actually taper to 5/16 at the end.

Yeah, think it would have to be a 5/16s ball, so that it seats correctly to the rocker arm. I'm not aware of 3/8" rockers? it's just the OD of the pushrod itself. It couldn't be block clearance from what I see. Maybe I'd have drill out the plastic pushrod guide?

unless you're going with 1.9 rockers then you should be fine

                  Why would rocker ratio matter?

                    Re: 3/8 oil restricted pushrods

that's what zzp says. probably because the rocker travel is increased, pushrod moves closer to the rocker mount, the pushrod holes are not big enough to compensate for that movement and might contact the pushrod hole in the head.

                      What about 1.7 or 1.8?

that should be fine. you could also go with a smaller thick wall pushrod. But I would just call zzp and intense to find out for sure. They could tell you definitively in a minute.
