  • Rocker arm torque sequence?

So im in the process of rebuilding my '96 3.8l. Im about to put the heads back on, and I've realized that my Chiltons manual doent really cover the process of re-installing the orckers on the 3.8l motor.

I know that the bolts are torque to yield, and I already have a new set, and I know that you are supposed to torque the bolts down to 132 in/lbs and then another 90* after that. My only question is, is there are specific way to do it? Am I suposed to torque the arms when the valves are shut, or does it make a difference?

    Thanks in advance.

there is no sequence, you will just torque them all down to spec and they will adjust to the valve position

Its best to do it with the valves shut if possible, just to make sure it seats up properly. No sequence per say, but I like to go from the middle out to prevent the shaft that the rockers mount on from warping.
