valve springs

ok i have decided to start my motor mods with some 1.8:1 rockers but i say to myself why not upgrade springs and rods as well right. well i have a question how do you keep the valves from falling down into the cylinder after you have taken off the springs? i have ideas on how to do it and more than likely one is corect but i would like to ask you guys how you all did yours. all sugestions would help and thanks for your time.

use an air compressor to hold the valve in place until you can wrap a rubberband around it. there's also a way of inserting string into the chamber until it holds up the valve.

insert string, rotate the piston until it compresses the string in the cylinder
