  • might be going internal

yea so my head gasket blew and i am going to maybe be going internal. i want to at least put a cam in it and also add some lifters, valve springs and seals, pushrods, and retainers. i want to keep it simple but yet add a little bit of power while im in there replacing the head gasket. new head bolts will be going in as well.

what are your thoughts on how much i should add while keeping it semi-simple? what are your ideas for a 10psi supercharged camaro with exhaust? my site below has more info on my car. but pretty much, everything has stock internals as of right now. i guess the biggest question mark is the cam *and yes, ive read the stickys etc* thanks guys!

how about port&polished heads and intakes to go along with the new cam. Other than that if your not going to rebuild it I was going to suggest L32 rods and forged pistons.

i would, but like i said.. im trying to keep it simple. im thinking about this

      INTENSE Stage 2 (Blower) cam.
      214/222 .332/.338 115 111
      http://www.intense-racing.com/Mercha...egory_Code=HCV

      OR

      X-P Hot (Blower) Cam
      212/224 .325/.335" 116
      http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...ts1.php?id=117

and also add some lifters, valve springs and seals, pushrods, and retainers. i want a streetable cam, since its still my DD, but still something that can give me some extra power.

that xp hot cam looks good, I have the Vs cam 206/216 115ls,and I love it even has a little lobe to it at idle. Just know that your boost reading will show lower after the cam install since it flowing more air out. I think I saw a drop of about 2 psi.

ew that sucks. i heard that i will need some head work with EITHER of those cams. is that true? because of the lift. if thats true, maybe something with a smaller lift? (along with lifters, springs, retainers, locks, timing chain, and valve seals)

          ARH Turbo/Blower cam
          -220/220 @ .050
-.320" lobe lift on the intake, .512" with a 1.6 rocker ratio
-.320" lobe lift on the intake, .512"with a 1.6 rocker ratio
          -114 lobe separation

My heads are stock and I have no problems but they said stock heads were fine with my cam though. But I did go with light weight pushrods and comp hyd. roller rockers. I would ask someone that knows more about cams to see if you do need head work with those cams.

                Re: might be going internal

both those cams should work with your stock heads just fine. if you buy lifters dont waste the extra 30 on OE-R's. If you get a cam with enough lift you wont need rockers anyways. I Woould also upgrade the timing chain and pull the balance shaft. 80 psi oil kit at WOT is also a great, cheap ugprade. 105lb valve springs should do the job. You dont NEED to change out the pushrods, i would invest that money elsewhere.

wow, totally missed that, I bought that kit, be sure you pay the extra $5 and have them swap in the metal LIM gaskets.

write an email to ZZP, specifically ZOOMER, and ask to get the gaskets for free, I am sure he will agree.
