I can get a set of Ls1 valve sprigs from a friend of mine for pretty cheap right now; he's rebuilding his valvetrain. I have heard of people using these on their 3.8 engines. Can it be done? If so, would I see any gain by doing this without any other mods? If not, what would I have to replace along with the springs? Eventually I would like to do a cam/heads setup.

yes they will work... You won't really gain anything. They are a tad bit stronger than our stock springs or the same.Keith - 99 'maro - White M5 - bumpstick and boltons - 13.65 @ 101 N/A

It's not worth the work to just replace the springs and even if you were doing a cam, i wouldn't suggest running them, they're a very weak spring.Black 1998 Pontiac Firebird A-4 swap
271.4rwhp/259.4rwtq NA
13.30@102.44
www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98

Building the Tom Henry RS
Part 4: Suspension Mods, Tires, Wheels, Headers and other Cool Stuff.
By: Hib Halverson
At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...02-07-2020, 10:30 PM
