well after learning more and talking to people i am not going to spray on the 122,000 mile engine i have in fear of blowing it i have it set up basically but decided to buy a newer engine and do a rebuild on that so far

    i plan on

    -port and polish heads
    -polish lower intake
-get v6blurs upper intake and throttle body (hopefully)
    -comp cam push rods
    -comp cam rocker arms
    -comp cam lifters
    -custom or compcam camshaft
    -forged pistons
    -polish crankshaft

-upgrade my nos kit to 150 shot or 100

any suggestions or part #'s for above items? ;)

I too own a 3.4 and am hoping to do the same mods as you. But due to high milage I plan on a rebuild first. I was wondering what type of other things I should include in the rebuild such as internals. I plan to run NOS and hofefully (as soon as there done) a super charger. I want the internals to be able to handle it all. What type of internals should I get to handle this stuff? Where can I get stuff like that for a 3.4??? Thank you!!!!

well i am just learning and i just learned of a company called wiseco that makes pistons for what seems to be the best price. i will let you know as i learn and go along with the project.

ok wiseco will custom make forged pistons for about $80 a piece. you gotta send them one of yours as a model.
crower will custom make a billet crankshaft for approx. $3500
          rods are already forged.
i'm going to use nutek heads, cam, and intake.
and finally its called NITROUS not NOS damit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok clear sumptin up for me guys. I was gonna go with the Nutek heads/cam/intake...but when I emailed them (bout 2 weeks ago) they said they dont make anything for the 3.4 anymore due to lack of sales. But I still am seeing HELLA people saying they are gonna get their stuff from Nutek.....what is goin on? Are they making stuff or not for us 3.4's????

Also...when I tear open my engine and start to rebuild this bad boy what else should I replace? Is there somewhere that makes an actual rebuild kit for the 3.4?

I was also wondering what sort of stuff I should make stronger besides the crank, pistons, and pushrods.

Last question... Jay said that Crower will make a custom crank shaft for 3500 bucks...thats a lot of money. How necessary is this if im gonna run nitrous on my engine (possibly a SC later on)??? If I just get forged pistons and my (already) forged rods how will the stock crank hold up? I dont want to take short cuts but if there is a CHEAPER way to strengthen my crank or if I dont have to worry about it getting jacked up then I dont wanna dish out that kinda money.

                      Thanks guys!!!!

you don't need that crank. stock crank will take all you can throw at it.
Ive also heard that nutek quit making the stuff, haven't seen it confirmed yet though. too bad.

ya...like I said I emailed them myself and asked them. The guy said they dont make 3.4 stuff anymore. Which would lead me to believe that they dont....I dont see why they would lie about it. I guess supersix is the only other option????

the reason i'd want the billet crank is so i can throw massive boost at the bltch. but it looks like i'm getting a 98 3.8L firebird so i'm gonna have to look for internals for that
