How much clearance with the sway bar? And is it the stock or 1LE sway bar?

Just keep in mind will the engine have enuf pressure to push the oil thru the larger filter? Have you axxed any mechanics about it? Keep us posted on your results. I too have considerd doing the same thing only with the AC delco filter which has the anti flow back valve.

The filter is longer, not thicker, and so it clears the swaybar just fine. Im using the stock swaybar, and most likely a 1LE would work just as well since 28mm to 32mm isn't a big jump. Same amount of swaybar clearance as always, only the filter is now "over" the sway...

If you read my other post, both of those filters are AC Delco's.

More Oil? Yes, I run 5qts now. I checked the dipstick and kept adding oil, it appears the larger filter requires about 0.5qts more than the smaller filter - which seems to be fine .

So long that you keep the oil "level" correct, there will be plenty of pressure. I am running 5qts of oil now to make up for the larger filter, the oil pressure is consistant.

I am using the Delco filter, and yes it has the antiflowback valve.

So far I have had no problems, I've only driven it 30 miles but I doubt I'll see any problems.

Hey magnus!!! Looks like you've been running a PF52 longer than me? Wow, you never posted it before :D

I guess my filter is now as big as your filter, adds 5hp right? :D Nice rope... ;)

Are you also running 5qts of oil?

Too bad us 3.4 guys can't put bigger filters on. Damned clutch cable. Oh well, we're perfectly happy with the size of our filters, you know, size doesn't matter . . . .
