  • Showing 3rd Generation

I was at my local car show this weekend parked with the bird(our 3rd show so far). It's fun to talk to people about the car. I get a lot of people that had one back when, or someone they knew had one. Being a convertible it draws the rag top crowd and being an f-body it brings those fans over. You can always tell an f-body person cuz they look underneath. :D Personally I love to see other 3rd Generation's, they are few and far in between, but surely up and coming as they are just coming into their classic ages. Any thoughts or experiences from others? I will post pics from the show later. Have a great day!

They are starting to get that nostalgic feel to them and everyone loves tham. I also think that they are the most agressive looking in their stock stance then other f-bods to be honest. Its great to own a 3rd gen too b/c parts are cheap and are common in junkyards. My car has to have parts from 5 other cars.

I used to think 3rd gens were the "worse" fbody generation...

I now own two of them and they are addicting, fun to work on and toy with, still kind of modern looking but you also get that retro feel...

Still 4th > 3rd but I really like my two right now...and parts are soo much cheaper and working on them is a breeze compared to 4th gens

I must be missing something...why do they look underneath? And my bro just bought a 87 Camaro. 2.8L V6 with the auto tranny (not sure what it is, 200r4 maybe?). The motor was just replaced about 10K ago, and the tranny rebuilt 2K ago. Paid $200 for it :P Needs and interior though. You're right, they're an awesome car. It's got the old school look and feel to it, yet still strives in the modern age.
