    Re: EGR Valve

yup - to a tee. I just bought a new one for $60. I'm gonna' put it in and see what happens. I can't see it bein' much else, 'cuz once it gets warmed up and all, it runs like a champ ('cept for a few lil' bucks here and there).

      Re: EGR Valve

Okay. I put the EGR valve on and the car ran worse! I couldn't even keep it started. I pulled it off and all of the holes were coated on the inside with carbon. I'm workin' on gettin' money back as we speak. Anyways, I got tired of it and took it to a shop. The guy found the problem - spark plug had burned up. Normally, I wouldn't think anything of it, but I just had them all replaced last summer and I know they're supposed to last longer than that. I told him this and he said "Yeah, that was our first thought - that there was something more seriously wrong in there, but we did a compression test and you have 150 psi in that cylinder head - it's still a good strong motor.". Anyways, it's runnin' great again, but my question is....what caused that plug to burn up so quickly? The insulator was completely gone.

-k-. That's what i was trying to get at. Bad plug, or something bad with the engine (wires, coil pack, distributor, ICM, gaskets, etc...)
