  • TPI SLP CAI, Will it work for a V6?

    http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=6&pcid=182

The ones for 90-92, it says for TPI Only, Would it work for the V6? It has the same MAFless intake track anyway, why wouldent it work for a 3.1 of those years?

While were on the subject of V8 parts fit V6's. Will this Y pipe fit? On stock cat/manifolds?

nope, the pass side v6 manifold angles back/down, and pretty sure that the driver side is wrong legnth. I know the 3800 y-pipe will not fit the 2.8/3.4 set up, and the 305 pipe is different from the all of them.

intermediate pipes are a different story though (not sure on teh twin cat cars though)

might have better luck getting a local exhaust/speed shop making one. $150 max pricerange. maybe even those shops that specialize in brand rice cain fab one up good.

4th gen 3.4 will not work due to the 3rd gens curving around the subframe, the 4th gen just go straight under & back

I should just go with those Pacesetters that come with the Y-pipe. Are they smog legal for the 3.1's though? I heard you need t take off the air pump and **** if their going on a 3.1

haven't heard that yet. IF yo need nazi c.a.r.b. #, it wont work. Other than that, it should bolt up.

I'll look into the possible air pump thing, but I'm being told right now that I should ctualy work. geesh  ;)

I had them on mine you still can keep the smog pump but you have to make an adapter to screw the pipe into the passenger side header. The down side was that though I took it to a shop that let me smog with them on the car wouldn't pass the sniffer because it wasn't allowing the cat to heat up enough to do its job. You also have to heat up and bend the passenger side header to clear the chassis.
