Okay, in a 3.1L V6, stock air intake, there's a sensor that plugs into the air cannister on the passenger side of the engine bay. What is that sensor and if I cut open the intake hole on the cannister, will it screw with the sensor?

That is the air temperature sensor. If I am understanding you correctly, you want to cut a hole in the canister to allow more air to flow in. If you keep the sensor there, there shouldn't be a problem. Although I would recommend doing the custom cold air intake for a much better flowing intake. Yeah, I've seen the deals for the custom CAI's, but I just spent about $25 on a K&N for my stock intake about a year ago, so I wanna' make use of that one. I'm not a racer, so it's not terribly important that I feed massive amounts of air into the engine. Just lookin' for a lil' cheap and easy horsepower. But I do thank you for your input.1992 Arctic White Firebird
3.1L V6, TB Coolant Bypass, CAI, Turbo Muffler, other little things.

http://www.geocities.com/colinobu/MyHomepage.html

\". . .Finger in the air and the flag still wavin\'. . .\"
