    -whisper lid
    -home ram air
    -160` thermostat
-moved a/t sensor onto air filter
    -removed maf screen
    -dynomax custom catback w/cutout

thats about it, the car wont rev higher than 2k with my foot on the brake and that is what i launch from each time, i hit 16.8 with my 130lb friend wes riding with me, but my best without him was also 16.8... go figure!

Removed IAT sensor is a bad idea dood. ( to the filter) I personally dont believe in that mod do to the fact that the Air changes temperature from the filter while traveling threw the tubing. Id say u want it as close to the TB as possible. Id say that u are probly getting really cold numbers from ur IAT but the air is really hotter going in. So ur car is running rich because it really isnt getting the air it thinks it is. ( Or it cant compinsate due to old things like Filters or dirty injecotrs filters or lines. ) It could be just something else. My car ran slow simply due to some spark plug wires that wernt bad just not running above 85%

Brake stalling won't make it launch harder. That technique should be used to minimize wheel spin, by taking some of the initial load off the launch. If you're not spinning, you don't need it. Smash that baby from idle and see what it does... I bet you get more wheel spin then... That will "flash" the converter, and put more initial power to the wheels. If you spin too much, then try brake torquing to 1200, 1500, etc. until you just minimize the wheel spin, but not until you totally eliminate it.

I don't think I saw anyone else mention this:

If you are using stock tires, lower the rears to about 14-15psi. That took .5 sec off of my 60'.

Your reaction time is less than desireable. I bet you are launching at the green light. You ought to try launching at the 3rd yellow light. If your R/T is still low, launch at the 2nd yellow light.

These 2 simple tricks lowered my ET from 15.01 to 13.99. good luck.

If you are already doing the stuff I mentioned, then you need to get your car checked out. Something might be messed up.

FWIW, R/T has nothing to do with ET. The timer doesn't start until you get moving. ;)

Alright guy, I saw you running the other night. For what it's worth, I could only muster a 2.2 60'. And even with all the stuff I have, I could only run a 15.8. LS1's were running mid-high 14's left and right. Don't be down on your car, that might not be too far off from where a stockish car should be. Hit me up on AIM sometime, I am off Tuesday, and wouldn't mind helping you do a free mod or two to shave a tenth or so off. Don't sweat it, the density altitude was over 6000 feet!!!!

Hey who are you guys from Lubbock? I am from Lubbock too and I don't see that many 6s running around that like to race. Maybe we should line them up some time? Let me know something.

I don't race, especially not on the street!

It's good to see that you've started with basic maintainence. There are alot of factors that come into play with drag racing. It's SUMMER, in TEXAS, it's about 95 degrees per day, this will make your car run like puke. I ran up some quick calculations using an online density altitude calculator, your current DA is 5990. That means that you are racing your car in air that is equally as thin as the air over 1 mile up in the atmosphere!! You need to compare your cars with others that run at a similar DA, anyone racing in Denver would provide a good basis for you and your mods. I also ran up the DA for the day I ran my personal best, -1533ft. So I was in effect racing my car at over a quarter mile below sea level. Remember back to elementary school science, the higher up you go, the less oxygen there is.

As far as your 60' time goes, that needs some work. Drag racing is all about the short time, if you can't hook, you lose.

the most common mistake is reducing air pressure in street radials in hopes for better traction. lowering the air presssure causes the tire to bulge abnormally at the contact patch. what actually happens is that the tread cups at the contact patch, pulling the center of the tire off of the pavement and resulting in less traction. if you want more traction from your street tires then you should actually use 5-10 psi more than the factory specs.
