popular and talented are 2 different things, they're popular to little kids that still drawl anarchy symbols on every thing they get. I've been playing guitar for 6 years now, why is that relevant, because when I started playing guitar it turn my attention away from the sound of the music and the way the sections melded together and the way they were played. look at ANY of the bands I listed and dare tell me they're musicians aren't some of the best. I do LOATH them and other "popular" talentless bands. They play the same thing over and over and over , no solos, no change ups NOTHING. Its crap. GWAR from the 80s was the same way, but they got a new guitarist and have been awesome ever sense. With out a doubt the best live show I've ever seen. not to mention "rage" reminds me of rap and thats another thing I loath, that and the culture that goes with it.

point taken, however you're looking at it with musicians perspective. Not most people are musicians and look for things such as variety and the difficulty of music (you think rap takes any musical skill? not really) most people just look at it how it is, and how it makes them feel. Rage has some catchy tunes, and if its worked for them why should they change that??

I do see your point but realize most people don't really care whether or not the music is difficult to play or if they have lots of solos, ect.

I never said they should change...then they'd be sellouts and I would still hate them. nor did I say rap required and talent, just some nerd with a computer and sound fx and some retarded thug from south Detroit.

sorry kristen, i have to disagree with you on the christmas music part.

i work in a grocery store, and we started playing it before thanksgiving.

its the same songs over and over, just sung by different people.

sure, its good for a while, but after the first week, i want to kill myself :)

There isn't much 80s music that does it for me. I'm an alternative rock and jazz guy. Jazz is a music that surely takes talent as well.
