Anyone ever have vertigo?

I was in the hospital for something other than my diagnosed problem I have to live with. I was getting dizzy for the last 6 days, on and off like a switch. Figured it might have been a problem with some meds I was taking, or maybe not eating like I should (like atleast once a day for starters). So I went to a clinic, and they told me to go to the ER at their hospital. I get there, and the doctor told me I had a case of vertigo.

I know what it is, but im just curious if anyone else has had it too? What did you do to get rid of it? I have a prescription for motion sickness meds, but I want to make sure that I don't get it again. This is NOT something I need day in and day out.

Can't say I have or even been motion sick. Do you have a problem with you vestibular system for the motion sickness meds or is that for the vertigo?

lol, i just webmd'd vertigo, they might as well just call it "drunk"

double vision, vomiting or nausea, loss of hearing, slurred speech.

I think that's what I had. I had a real bad landing when I was in the Army. (I always hated rear PLFs.) Smacked my head, hurt like hell. The next morning, woke up and went to ER after the wife had to help me to the bathroom. They said it was something with my inner ear.

Vertigo can be caused by "allergic" reactions to several things. The one I know of is caffiene.

On a side note i remember Professor Calculus from the Tintin comics having vertigo.
