don't ever get a tattoo that someone else has! Sort of goes against what tattoing is about.
And don't get those damn kanji japanese symbols. I dated a japanese girl for a while and I would always ask her to translate when we saw someone with a kanji tat. Only 1 out of about 20 people I asked knew the actually meaning of it.
last night I watched miami ink and this genious kid was getting a big octopus tattoo on his shoulder and when asked why that tattoo, he said he wanted it because he wanted people to think hes cool and not just really smart. worst reason to get a tattoo ever.
on the up side, the octopus actually turned out pretty wicked.

There are hundreds of cross tattoos and angel wing ones too. I am actually about to get a cross with a wrap around it on my shoulder blade. My kids names are going to be on the wrap too. My sister is drawing mine for me though. She is a great artist and just adds another personal touch for me.
