My gtp eats those damn hybrids pos's

Well we had to drive to austin last night and i had my car on cruise at 68mph, Had my mpg display on and it was doing a average of 37mpg on the freeway and i never saw it dip below 34.5mpg even on uphills. Best i saw was 42.9mpg when it was heading downhill for about 10 miles .Hmm 375hp, 37mpg average freeway sounds good to me. I think ill stick to my gtp while these people buy their ugly azz hybrids with 100hp and 45ish mpgs.

not bad. Performance mods when not performing = better mpg (I know I know, only some of them)

Everyone was like "You know.... When you get a sports car it's going to have bad MPG...." When I drove my Camaro home going 75mph (varied between 70 and 80) almost the entire way... about 400 miles on the highway (stopped for gas and some food once or twice) I got an average of 31 MPG.

This guy today brought up the bad mpg thing again... I was like "I got 31" **his eyes widen** O_O... My 4-cylinder gets like 34.......

yea, thats whats funny for me too. when i take people for rides in my car, they are like "damn, this thing is quick for a 6, nice" and when im like "yea, 31mpg on the highway too" they are like :eek:

I have a picture of my moms AVERAGE mpg on her gpgt at 36.8 mpg and like 685 miles on the range

Sigh... last time I checked I only got 26 highway...
Guess it doesn't help having 3.73s and going over a huge mountain at 95-110 mph [img]smile.gif[/img]

i don't understand how you guys get such bad milage, with my cam and 57# hour injectors, i still get like 300- 350 miles out of a tank in a 1997 (15.5gallon)(1998 and up have the 16.8 gallon)

and my rev limiter is like 6800-7200 rpm and i make it works offen... ;)

<_< >_>.... you have a lot of mods though viper... mine is stock. When you have better intake/exhaust/cai/whatever, I would think you'd still get better mpg. Next summer or the holidays or whatever I want to do a few projects... Probably exhaust will be the first big one, followed by headers and such, followed by CAI. I expect my mpg will be roughly near 35 highway after that.
