I admit my post was ignorant to some extent too..... I can't find any hard numbers to back up my claims of high 15's/low 16's nor have I ran my truck. I do recall reading on some deisel forums about a year ago the stock Cummins 610's will run high 15's to low 16's, I just can't find them now.
So I can't quite prove him wrong, he can't prove himself right by using #'s from a G-tech on a TV show.
What I can do is offer a dash-cam video of my stock truck I took doing a 0-60(ish) run. It's not that acurate either but if you analyze, you see I start moving at the tail end of second 3 and hit 60 on the leading end of second 12, which is a very sloppy way of measuring 8-9 seconds 0-60, and is not much less than I could get doing the same video measurement in my old 3.8 Camaro. There's too many variables (speedo lag, camera delay, etc) that keep this from being a strong argument, but make of it what you will.
The point in all my ranting, and even setting foot in this forum after 2+ years, is to hopefully arm somebody with the info that Diesel's arent slow, stinky, POS's any more.
And if you still don't believe me, watch these...
