Just in a 1/4 mile and he is leaving it stock, from what the guy said today at the car show they are running high 12's low 13's. The new '07 Cobra is going to be one hot toy though let me tell you. Either way it will be fun to try to see what I can do. But he might abandon that idea now and get the new Saleen Extreme, take a look at that thing its insane.
Myself I saw the new Camaro today, awwww......
^Might think about ditching the 97ss idea for it^
Also the new Challenger R/T, aww..... <even though I'm not a mopar fan since they left the 70's.1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

CAI,IAT Relocate

Never said it was easy, just said I got a year, and I can get that much done in a year, I had planned on it already, only reason it should even be fun. Plus here in MN we got it great low level land, and warm dry days where we race. But that helps that Stang too..
hmm maybe if I put a pressure regulator on his fuel line when he isn't looking....
Edit: forgot the rear diff, tranny build, flexplate if I don't go 5spd or 6spd, and I am lookin at 4.10s or 3.73s maybe 4.56s if I go 6spd after looking further into it, don't forget on the strip Hoosier 255/50/16 for the strip. Thats what I was looking at anyways.

First there is technically no new cobra... they are calling it the gt500... SVT worked on it... will have high 400 hp... there is also 2 saleens out: low 300hp, and low to mid 400hp... then there is a third saleen (extreme) not sure you can buy it yet but soon with 550hp... then there is the roush mustang with mid 300 hp... all in all there is 7 newer body style stangs... v6,gt,1 roush, gt500, 3 saleen models... and the ls1 camaro can beat probably 4 out of 7 of them... not bad for a 4 year old competitor...

Alright well actually the new Mustang is called the Shelby Cobra GT500.... If you check the website or the dealer you will see that. Um yes looks like the Saleen Extreme will be out this upcomming year '07 release I think. But that baby runs just under 80k, faster than ****. Didn't know roush did one this year though.
As far as people building their cars for 2 years, yes okay cool.
Here are a few things that make my life a whole lot easier in building a car...
1- I am single, and live with a roommate
2- I don't work a full time or part time job
3- I do work about 10-15 hours a week max
4- I make between 4k-6k a month depending on how much business I get
5- My rent is a whoppin 400$ a month.
6- I have all the free time in the world
7- I have access to shops that I can easily pay to do some of the work if I don't feel up to it.
So when you consider all the above facts, how long does it really take?
Most people take years mainly because they want to do the work themselves and don't have the time, or they don't have the money easily available or have better things to spend it on. And people that really take the extra milestone away from anything else have alot of trial and error to play with.
If it comes down to it I can drop the car off at a shop about 30 miles away, sign some papers, throw $5k at them and say start it. Come back in a few weeks and pick it up. In this case I wouldn't even mind doing that so much simply because I highly doubt I will be keeping the car personally. But I would for now prefer doing the work myself.
MM forgot to add here, my LT1 in my Iroc was dyno'd at 601hp, might even still have the sheets somewhere... But ya never the less that entire car took me just about a year. Engine/Tranny/Body/Frame/Rollcage/Suspension...
I don't think there was much that didn't get done to that car, besides the back seat replaced and seat belts cause I took it out for my sub box.. A little hard to make a ported box for 2 Rockford Power DVC 15's in the hatch area
*ugh that system was far too loud and sounded like CRAP*

Dude man, you've got some serious pipe dreams for your car. You're talking about doing things to a 3.4 that have never been done. It's gonna take A HELL OF A LOT of money. And a lot of trial and error.
Hell, theres a ton of aftermarket for the 3.8 and it still takes a lot to get it into the 12s. How do you expect to get there with virtually no aftermarket with a 3.4?
BTW, how can you only work 15-20 hrs a week and make 6k?2003 Zinc Yellow Mustang GT 1 of 701
ET : TBD
But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun! you make 4-6k a month an you drive a 3.4? (Not bashing 3.4 guys but it seems pretty odd that someone making around 60-70k a year is driving a beat up 3.4 fbody.)

I run two companies, I build and design custom automotive audio/video systems, and I build computers, I also do some back end web programming on contracts. Just been lucky, I am in the right city, and have a good base of people to do work for. I can make $2000 off a single stereo system that takes me a total of 8-10 hours to design, sell, install, and tune. $10,000+ stereo systems around here are not that rare, and very thankfull for it am I!
I know I am talking about some insane stuff, but its not stuff that hasn't been done... Granted its what very few people have done. I don't plan on it being simple or cheap by any means.. But as long as I can hang in to beat him factory, lol it really wouldn't even be worth the amount of work. But it can be done, I really want to build it more towards autocross. Who knows what I'll end up doing, next week I'll want to put 3.8 in it, week after a 4.3 and after that I'll get an idea and want to put a new 5.3 in it... I really have to get on one idea, and stay solid with it, or nothing will get done, or I will end up re-doing everything.1995 Camaro 3.4 A4

CAI,IAT Relocate
