beat a stock mustang gt

whats up everybody. yea i beat a stock mustang gt last night. my friend drives a cavalier, he is on the same team as me, and he was wanting to fight this dude that drives a mustang. they pull up to the light beside each other and ryan( guy in the cavalier) starts talking $hit to him. so he starts stuttering real bad and comes up with an excuse why he was starting crap with ryan. so he finally said he was REALLY wanting to race and not fight. so ryan said that he wasnt going to race but he pointed back at me and said that i would. so we made a u-turn at the light and i got up beside at maybe 30 mph and when the road got strait again we both hit it and he was on my rear fender the whole time. so next we slowed down a little and he wanted to do it again. so we both stomped it, since he had a 5 speed he down shifted and my car stayed in third since i have an auto mine didnt down shift, so he got me by a car length. so we finally get to a light and its red. so i finally slow to enough to launch my car. well the light turns before we can stop, so i shifted into 1st gear so i could hit from a roll because i'm faster from a roll. we both stomped it at the same exact time, and i was pulling on him through all of first, and it was looking about the same way through second untill i looked in my rearview mirror and saw him turning around headed the other way. lol what makes me mad is that i wasnt at all prepared to race, i was a little low on gas, i had a passenger, and i had a sub and a spare tire in my trunk. and i havent taken any of that stuff out yet cause i'm going to the track satuday night.but it was fun anyway.

i think his car was a 98 if i'm not mistaken, it was a white gt convertable with a 5 speed. i know it was the first year they changed the 4th gen body style for the mustang. 98?

They changed the body style over in 99. Sounds like a good kill, the vert stangs aren't too quick because they weight a ton.

I beat stang gt's too. stock to stock stang vs. camaro v6 vs. v6 and v8 vs. v8 always wins and the v6 maro lightly modded is not far behind the stang gt stock.

I don't get how they say that toque moves the car down the road and hp sells it, but the older mustangs gts had I think at least 215hp and almost 300lbs/ft of torque, but they're not that fast.

HP is what gets the car moving, TQ keeps it moving.

Honestly the one you don't want to race in a highspeed rolling start is a V6 Mustang... My friend has a '94 3.8 mustang with a 5spd, kicks my *** from here to stop after about 50-60.... But I have an auto to so that don't help. But even on stock specs the '94-'9? V6 mustangs are just a tiny bit faster than our cars... His was also a hard top, I'm not sure on the weight of that car.

^ Well you've got a 3.4 so thats probably why. Theres no way that a V6 stang would pull on a 3800 (stock for stock) unless its one of those new '05s.
