• what size end-links for 1LE sway bars???

I was wondering what size end-links do you need for the 1LE sway bars for the front and rear? I know front and rear are the same, but I have no idea what size to get.

Please let me know,
Chris

There is only one part number. Front and rear are the same. See the Technical Database.

What if he doesn't want 1LE endlinks? ;) I've pondered that question before because I'm going with poly endlinks when I eventually get my 1LE swaybars.

Jason, that is exactly what I mean. I do not want the 1LE endlinks rather prothane or energy suspension. I just don't know what size/length I need of endlinks.

I know someone on here knows what size they are. The 1LE part #'s from GMpartsdirect.com dont tell you what size they are.

Someone help us out!

Thanks,
Chris

The 1LE endlinks must be used with the 1LE sway bars. And they have the highest durometer rating anyway.

Why must they? Or do you mean to say, "The 1LE endlinks are recommended to be used with the 1LE sway bars."???

I've seen several people on this board who list 1LE swaybars with poly endlinks in their signatures!

Just curious why you say they "must"...

Because the 1LE has a concave end, the 1LE poly bushing is convex to fit. Although you can attach an aftermarket endlink it won't fit properly, and no one makes a harder endlink than the 1LE. The 1LE endlinks MUST be used for the sway bars to work as designed. Installing aftermarket endlinks is a bastard system.

BTW you can't use 1LE endlinks on aftermarket sway bars, again due to the shape of the bushing - doesn't fit properly.

Well.......last night I ordered my Taylor plug wires and Energy Suspension end-links for the swaybars. I read all the posts on the 1LE deal and there are others out there running Energy Suspension end links with 1LE swaybars. I did a search and found this question asked before, so I dunno. If they don't fit that's what 30-day money back guarntee means. Hehe...

Now as for the 1LE swaybars, SLP online has them and it says "with bushings" and shows the 2 mounting bushings. I will use those ones but was wondering if it says "with bushings" will that be all I need with the endlinks?

Please let me know

The ES endlink bushings are softer than the 1LE, and flat - not convex.

"with bushings" is the frame bushings - probably the 1LE bushings. That's all you need.

The ones that I ordered and am using from Energy Suspension are convex...NOT flat. I have had them on my car for nearly a year now and they still look new. I would suggest these end-links with the 1LE bar and use the 1LE bushings where the sqay bar mounts to the frame.

As far as the Energy Suspension bushings being softer...I wasn't aware that 1LE material was polyurethane. I have always been under the impression that the 1LE is still rubber, but a stiffer rubber, offering less flex. Even in this case, the polyurethane would still be stiffer under compression.

Good, I've not seen a convex from anyone.

There is nothing harder than the 1LE endlink bushing.

I don't get it...what's teh significance of the link. I didn't see any load tests, simply a statement that the endlinks can be used on the Impalas and the guys opinion that they are stiffer. What's his credibility?

It is there only to show what a 1LE endlink looks like. As for the hardness, I had it tested it in my past Quality Control lab - that's the credibility, mine.

I would like to see results from your "Quality Control lab"...sounds interesting. I have 2 1LE endlinks here at the shop and, comparing pressure tests myself, polyurethane comes out ahead. As for the shape, both materials, when compressed to the correct torque, will shape to the sway bar that they are applied to.
