I had a pcm from a supposedly 96 camaro with a M5 but when I scanned it with hptuners it comes back as a 2002 pcm is this possible? Since I was thinking that it was a 96 pcm I purchased another and that does come out as a 97 pcm from a Camaro. There are logs I saved when I scanned the vehicle to see what it was.

    Re: Pcm questions

Can a 2002 pcm work on 96 car? I scanned it with my scanner and only codes being thrown are P1406 which is the egr I deleted the Egr valve. And the other one is P1651 and P1652. There is no code for anything else so that is why I'm confused on whether that pcm can be used for a 96.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
