C0035 Fr LH WSS CKT Malfunction

so i got the C0035 Front LH circuit malfunction code (probably about 7 months ago, but just pulled the code). I followed the manual and the WSS reads ~1kohm at the sensor and from connector C1 (pins 20,21) from the EBCM. Continuity from every cable harness from the sensor to C1. i put the car in run, engine off, and got <1V from 20 to gnd and 21 to gnd.

The manual says the EBCM is bad, anyone run into this? How does an entire module go bad? A sensor i can understand, but a computer?

Anyone know of other makes/models modules which fit a 98 3.8 M5? How would i know if a part is compatible other than having the same part number?

Computers die all the time bud just be glad you dont drive a chrisler they go out regularly. 2 days ago i had a toyota in that wouldnt start ended up being a bad bcm, dodge controls the alternator with the pcm theres a big problem with them not charging because of bad pcms
