I was looking over my engine compartment as i swapped out my air box for a K&N cone filter when i saw a plug sitting unused, it located on the drivers side just behind the air box. If I'm right its for a MAF sensor. first dose a 3.4 need a MAF and if no will it benefit or even work with my PCM?

Originally posted by tkoforpresident View Postyou don't have an MAF, none of the 3.4's do. The PCM reads off the TPS and o2's to guess on incoming air.
i would need to see a pic of the sensor, but it could be your ABS, IAT, or some other random sensor.
The PCM does use the TPS to fine tune curves, but it uses the MAP a bit more.Originally posted by nascar24jd View PostI will look at my 1993 Firebird later, but I believe I have the same plug in the same spot. I am pretty sure it is for the air pump, if so equipped. Only manual transmission cars came with an air pump, but all of the cars have the wiring harness.

Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...02-07-2020, 10:30 PM
