98 3.8 Camaro, P1153 problems. Please help

Wife's car just threw a P1153. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) insufficient switching Bank 2 sensor 1

the car is stock. it does have a slight oil leak on the passenger side valve cover.

I havent driven it yet, so Im not sure how it is running. And i havent been able to climb underneath to look at anything.

Is this code a bad wire, bad sensor, or what? Any help would be appreciated.

basically it says the o2 sensor isn't switching back and forth from lean to rich enough in a 100 second period.
Maybe a bad sensor, maybe bad wiring, maybe an exhaust leak.

A vacuum leak could cause this but it would probably throw the other o2 off as well, so no worries on the intake side. If I were you, I'd start with checking the o2 sensors condition if there isn't an obvious exhaust leak.

And get a new valve cover gasket, it's an easy easy fix and not expensive.

It's a slow o2. Replace it. Also a leaking valve cover gasket won't throw that code, if it's seeping, just keep your eye on it; leaking, replace.

yeah, we are fixing the gasket soon.
