  • Computer Chips for Free

I purchased a 1997 3.8 5-Speed Camaro a few days ago. The guy that sold it to me also gave me two extra computer chips that he claims are performance chips.

I have tried to research them on the internet, but I am unable to find out anything about them.

On one side of them, the have the word KnockOut, on the other side, "58M2".

I do not plan on tearing the car apart just to install them, and was wondering if anyone would want them for free.

Again, I have no idea what they really are, but please ask as may questions as you want.

My guess is they are probably those POS resistor "chips" that are all over ebay. If you post a pic I can tell you for sure.

Ya, post some pictures. I'm agreeing with Shadow that they're most likely the resistor that plugs into your IAT.

Apparently thats what happens when you work on PC's for 10 years and have no idea how to fix cars...lol.

What do you mean by part of your ignition and door key....?

Look on your keys to open the door.

On the very top, where your key ring holds onto the key, there is a semi-circle cut out.

                  That is what you have.

                  Edit: Got realllly bored.
And for some reason my spare set was never "knocked out"
