  • megasquirt gains?

    i was wondering if tuning a stock engine with exhaust with megasquirt would yield any gains. i know MS (in my case) is mainly used for compensating for a high compression ratio when doing the 3x00 hybrid swap, but would it have any gains on a stock engine?

    the reason i ask is that im trying to take this swap one part at a time, instead of buying all the parts and then finding out im screwed if something comes up.

    by the way, the MS system im talking about is the 140$ non-assembled kit on glensgarage.com

          The main advantage I could see with a near stock engine is increased ignition timing. You could get pretty aggressive with the timing and run 93 octane and get a good seat of the pants feel. I noticed a big difference when I got more aggresive with my low speed ignition timing before boost comes in. It makes a 3.4 feel like not such a dog on the bottom end...still runs out of breath at the top end though due to stock heads/cam.

            sounds good. still trying to decide if i should go with headers or MS first... any personal preferences?

            i know ill eventually need both anyways for the hybrid swap
