  • Laptop performance hah?

So I'm looking to buy a laptop just for HP tuners. My assumption is that hp tuners doesn't demand a whole lot out of a computer but I'd rather ask you guys that know. Should I get a halfway decent one or is a ****ty refurbished 1.2 GHz Dell fast enough?

Thats fine, they only require 300 to 400. I was running a 300 mhz for the longest before I upgraded to a 2.0 ghz.

Ah good.. But it just seems weird that the program i'll be using (hp tuners of course) will cost me more than the computer that's gonna run it. It's all for the greater good though. Thanks!

You should ask this on the HP tuners board or email them. I remember seeing some guys over there saying they used their desktops to edit the tune and the laptop just to flash it and scan the car.

just make sure it has usb ports on it. The new versions of hptuners use the usb port to connect. Else you will have to buy a serial to usb cord as well.

hahah, oh **** I shoulda just looked that up first. But I've been doing a lot of stupid things here recently. Yeah I figured it would need a USB port anyways. I'm real familiar with computers and building them.. just not a pro with the programs. Thanks.
