  • Is there an acceptable amount of misfires?

jsut wondering. I had a misfire problem, so I swapped plugs 1st and it seems to have gone away by seat of pants. But i detected a few misfires on a few cylinders, very little but some.

    Specifically cylinders 3 and 6.

      LOL no...

Car is stock as stock can be.

I had misfire detect for each cylinder and there were a few, not many at all, I didn't notice them by seat of pants. Once it stops raining(tropical storm) I will get some good WOT logs. Right now I just spin 1st and 2nd pretty ba d when I get on it.

        SO no one knows?

is it normal to have an occasional misfire show up on a scan? (do to inaccuracy of what is sensing it or more?)

swap coils... if the misfire moves then you have found your problem

              BUY ZAINO!

Re: Is there an acceptable amount of misfires?

I had the SAME exact problem with mine. It kept throwing a misfire code so I changed the plugs and wires, that fixed it for a while, then it did it again on the SAME cylinders, so i changed the coil pack, plugs and wires on the same two cylinders that has fixed the problem. Thing is, if you change one coil pack, you might as well change the other two including all the plugs and wires. It would be best if you do it yourself, its going to save you a TON of money. It doesn't take that long to change them, but it will take a min. or two to change the plugs and wires!!! Good luck!!

ohm out the coil packs before you buy a new one

Re: Is there an acceptable amount of misfires?

with a ohm meter or multi meter

                      remove coil packs

put paper clip in both holes (on the bottom) use the meter to get ohms

on the side the wires plug onto just ohm it

one side should read .3 to .6 ohms

and one side should read 5000 to 6500 ohms

if one side is out of this the coil pack is bad

i think he means check the ohms(resistance) with an ohmmeter. I have the specifications in my book if ya need them.
