  • Help Me With My Fastchips.com Setup

Hey guys, I'm going to get my pcm tuned from Fastchip.com, but I just need a little help with a few of the options.

    http://www.fastchip.com/order.txt

Firstly, although they do my pcm, it is not listed in the order sheet, does that mean that I would have to find out all the information for them, or can I just put stock and have them look it up?

WOT shift RPM - I don't know what to do here, any suggestions? Anyone know what rpm it does at stock?

Idle - What do you guys change your idle to, if at all? Higher or lower? Mine is ok currently, although it vibrates a little b/c of headers.

Rev Limiters - Should I remove them in a daily driver?

Trouble Codes - I have one periodically, but haven't been able to pull it, should I just put down "yes"?

Should I even get a stage 2 tune (which requires high octane [92]), when nohing in my engine has been modded (see mods in sig) and I'm a V6??

none of that stuff would really help you.. if I were you i'd go to a dyno shop and get you're air fuel ratio measured with a wideband. If you provide that information to the tuning company they can adjust you're air fuel and timing.. Thats where the performance is. But if you just have them do that stuff, you wont see much of a gain if any gain at all.

Well in an email sent to one of the members of this site, fastchip claimed around 15-16 RWHP from a tune.

And I think I might do that at my local dyno, thanks. Hopefully it won't cost as much as it does to dyno ($90/hr).

But I'd still like suggestions to the things I've asked....for the 3.4 it says "Note: this is a "Flash" computer, like the LT1s, and
        Vortec trucks, not a"plug-in" chip"

And in an email he sent, he said "We do not offer stage 1 and stage 2 chips for this car since it has a programeable computer only custom tuning."

So I need more input. What else should I tell him?
