• Enhanced IO HP Tuner

I am going to be buying a HP tuner soon and I was wondering if I should spend the extra 150 for the Enhanced IO, and the extra $ for the pigtails what are they and what do they do? I read the description on the website but I didn't really understand it.

Thanks

It's for reading external analog data into the scanner. Mainly used for wideband oxygen sensors. If you plan to do any real tuning, I'd get the enhanced version so that you'll be able to read a wideband sensor for AFR data.

Wideband oxygen sensors are more accurate across the entire range than a narrowband (stock) sensor. Tuning with a narrowband is foolish because it's totally innacurate at anything other than 14.7:1. Probably the most popular one is the LM-1 or LC-1, but there are others out there.

Does this wideband just replace my old o2 sensors?
How much work does it require for installation and use?
How would I use a wideband?

n/m... just found the tutorial videos.. i am watching them

Yes, if you have the enhanced version of HP Tuners, that's how you do it.

here a question for you guys..

i have the lm-1, also have the enhanced hptuners.

which wires tie together to allow you to log wb reading...

i cant seem to figure out which one will work. or find any info on how to incorporate the two..
thanks in advance.

$350 for a tuner with wideband input.

Congrats, though. Tuning is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.
