Hptuners... offers software upgrades for life.

but I don't think they offer hardwar upgrades which is not too unreasonable.

BTW v. 2.0 and hardware(what you will be buying) will work on Ford, GM, and dodge.

So if you sell your, you can buy a license for your next vehicle and use it on that.

TSP, only good for your car.

BUT, you do have to tune yourself which I will say is not easy, but if you are decent with a computer and willing to put some research and time into, I think its worth it.

hardware is usually an upgrade...like how they charged us only $75 when we wanted to upgrade to the enhanced box when it first came out.

Not sure on the timeframe for the new hardware to be available...i assume 2.0 software will be available before the hardware.

true to an extent...you could do like some gtpers and swap pcm to pcm as long as you have the same year/tranny/gears you should be ok. Gtp's are easier because they are all autos with the same gear ratios...fbodys can differ more.

I really dont feel as if tuning is difficult. Yes I have been tuning for a good while now, but in all honesty its alot of common sense stuff. I mean for v6's with hpt how many tables and stuff are there to change? Your talking easy stuff first like gear/tire changes, fan on/off points, shift points all of which are common sense in the end and a little bit of testing...fueling can get difficult without the right tools of the trade but even that isnt too hard if you know what corners to cut.
        00 GTP
98 Camaro v6
See, told ya I\'d be rockin another 4th gen :D
V6 & V8 tuning available at http://mysite.verizon.net/whenn1/

give me an idea of what corners to cut

so i guess i could do a slightly better job of tuning my own ride in person than TSPerformance can do at their shop (guessing)?

does TSP tune for wideband? so they know exactly what our cars like?

i still cant decide if i want TSP or HPT
im leaning TSP, cause its cheaper, but I want HPT so i can dial-in my car

I think tsp sort of does a wideband tune...

I think you can shipt it back and forth and get them to tweak it with wideband results you mail htem.

I also think for their "base" tunes they used a wideband on a v6 to get a basic tune to put on other cars.

I agree alot of things are easy to figure out but the fueling and timing gets complicated, I admit I still have issues with it. And looking around I see not too many others are really that good at it. You are good.

Ps another thought is you can always get a little money back if you sell your copy of hptuners to someone. I got mine for $200, I am sure I coudl sell it to some for $300(only $15 over a tsp tune) maybe even more.

but like said its a little harder to sell it since its year specific, have to find someone to buy your year, GTP guys since they are all autos, they just probably sell the pcm with the program and it bolts in to most cars.

I guess 99-92 guys could problaby exchange PCMs and do it.

Heres my hint for the day...make everything as simple as possible lol, honestly though...when it comes to fueling just keep it simple ;)

I've done both lol! The learning curve on HP Tuners is pretty steep for a novice. Unless you have a strong desire to research and learn how to tune your car I'd go with TSP. My tune from them turned out great, and now I update it myself with what knowledge I have, or if it's too complex I can always have them EMAIL me an updated tune. Pretty sweet deal.
