  • Replacing the T.P.S.

I need to replace this...the car loses almost all power...the volt meter goes back and forth.
I do not know if this is a job for a mechanic or it is a simple replacement. Trying to find the part on line...all they show is the unit for the V8.
    Anyone know?

The DBW throttle body is a self contained unit and not "Serviceable". You will need to buy new or used. I have one sitting on a shelf in the garage for the car I no longer own, though it is tapped for a shark nozzle.

Not clear on "tapped for a shark nozzle. " how much does a new one cost and how easy is it to install? Does it need to be adjusted after its installed?

New ones cost in the 200's. as far as install take the old one off, put the new one on. no adjustment needed.

Shark nozzle refers to the nozzle for a NOS wet kit. I drilled and tapped it for when I had a wet kit on the car.

Wow...in the $200's....the one for the V8 is less than $40....this does not makes sense.

The ls1 tb is controlled by a throttle cable. The 3.8 is drive by wire. Now do you get the difference?

Not finding at O'Reilly, and other auto parts chain stores...not even on Rick's Camaro site.
                  This is amazing.

Dealer or junkyard or ebay are going to be your only options.

NOT a junk yard....who knows how long it will last.
Not ebay...just a junk yard online.
May have to call the Chevy Dealer to get it.

Found a guy in Arkansas who has a yard with over 200 Camaro's and just sells Camaro parts. He has one from a Camaro with about 40,000 miles and his price is $260. He seems to know his Camaros and the one pictured in the ebay link I was given is NOT it...I will probably buy it from him. pics on ebay show a very small part you could put in the palm of your hand but he says its not that. I will probably buy it from him when he gets back from his holiday next week.
