  • Lots of kr

Hey guys over the past few days i noticed the car kind of struggleling while cruising so I decided to plug in HP tuners and do a quick scan, to my surprise there was a lot of KR when it was hitting 15+KR the car would struggle, the only thing I've messed with was with the Spark Advance and even then at the time i had 3KR tops, So after the scan I loaded up the stock tune because I thought I messed up tuning it, but i Still had KR going up to 15+

What do you guys think would be causing this?
fuel pressure is at 45 psi at idle
only check engine code is P0341(Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance)
replaced sensor itself and still has code
checked the pigtail of the cps(cam position sensor)
    which was good

      Re: Lots of kr

shouldn't think it would affect KR but is a case learn necessary after replacing the cam shaft sensor on our motors? but yeah the weather is gonna make a difference you should pull timing vs your iat.

        Re: Lots of kr

Are you misfiring? Do you have a bad exhaust leak? Is something smacking the motor? All the above can cause KR...do you have knock?

          Re: Lots of kr

No misfires, no exhaust leaks, there's nothing loose so I dont think anything is hitting the motor. If I go wot I get 3-4 kr through the rpm range not like the 15+ I get while driving

            Sounds like a bad PCM.

if the car doesn't have misfires, what do you mean by it struggles?

Like when I try accelerating It feels like it has no power like when my cat was clogged(don't have a cat anymore), it just doesn't want to move and this is where 15kr+ Is built up

                    Re: Lots of kr

i'm not sure what 15KR feels like...i mean, the computer is pulling alot of timing, i could see that feeling like a brick wall... so... check knock sensors for sure.

Alright anyone know what the voltage is supposed to be for the knock sensors?
Incase the PCM is bad I just got one from a pick and pull .-.

                        Re: Lots of kr

i dont have a definitive answer for you, i can tell you that a knock sensor is a piezo electric sensor that creates its own voltage. its AC voltage, that i believe is measured in milivolts. i'm not sure if the normal reading is 0VAC or if there is a reference voltage though. i'd be interested to know myself.

There is A 5 VDC reference single through it.
