  • Custom HVAC?

    Im trying to update my 2000 firebird make it more modern, i was wondering if anyone has put a digital hvac in? is there anyway to put one fin from like a gran prix or corvette or something?

    That would be pretty neat the only problem I could see is that most of the cars that use the digital display panels either don't use vacuum to move the air doors and use electric motors OR they use an electric vacuum switch box which ive seen on some buicks located above and hidden by the passenger side hush panel. Whereas our cars are a direct vacuum system where the selector itself actually directs vacuum to different blend doors and use a cable system to adjust temperature.

    However this would be an interesting project for someone who was willing to do the work to convert the vacuum to electric.

    EDIT - P.S. I forgot to mention that the electronic controls also use an electronic blower motor controller to adjust fan speed. Conventional switch's simply use an array of wire wound resistors to decrease voltage supplied to motor to adjust speed.
